I hung out at and around Wrigley last night. Had dinner at Big Star on their outdoor patio. Did a lap around the ballpark (they only let us stay at the restaurant for an hour and a half), then sat in the outdoor seating at Sports Corner until they kicked us out at 11:00. Oddly enough the game still wasn't over at that point. It was a really weird experience. You could hear the fake crowd noise, the organ, and the players' walkup music really clearly. But Wrigleyville was incredibly quiet, generally. Hardly anyone out at all. We sat and watched the game and there were maybe 5 other people there. It was fun being there but also pretty sad and surreal. It was an attempt to feel part of the action in some small way but it mostly just made me miss normalcy even more.

I've thought about doing something like that too Butch, but every dining experience I've had since things re-opened in July (which I can count on 1 hand) has been stressful and depressing. Everything sucks.

This could only be better by a switch to animatronic players.
