I don't think there's anything more to discuss. It sounds like a difference of opinion in that you feel the Cubs are able to compete this year, but will have to rebuild before competing again (correct if I'm wrong) where as I think with careful planning they will be able to sustain that competitive talent by plugging in minor league talent and utilizing money that will be freeing up over the next few years for <i>good</i> free agent signings.
