So LaRussa's a"genius," eh?

The probability of an outcome in a population should not be applied to each individual member of that population with the expectation of reliability. That's a basic tennant of statistical analysis.

LaRussa is no "genius" but he's an effective baseball manager. He doesn't go by the book all the time - so sometimes his result are questioned/criticized - but he's certainly better than many out there. I'd take him over either Chicago manager today, warts and all. (Especially if he brings his magic potions and his pitching coach with him)
