Not Castro-specific. 40-man rosters are often not 40 players long, especially at this point. 39 is actually more than I'd expect (but they can move Guzman to the 60-day DL). That way, if they make a trade, sign someone, or call up someone not on the 40-man, they don't have to put someone on waivers.
