There's one transplant from Chicago in my neck of the woods whose restaurant specializes in deep dish pies, dogs and beef. Wholly Joe's is practically the only place in Columbus where I can hunt own some giardiniera.

There's a place I haven't been to yet in the Kansas City area so I have no idea how it is.
There's all kinds of giardiniera around but most of it's not the kind found on a Chicago beef sandwich.
