Agree that Lou fucked up but it depends when Lou made his comments.
If it was after Aramis injury, Lou should have had issues regarding where was the 2009 Cubs power supposed to come from? Milton wasn't going to provide it. Aramis was gone. Fukudome doesn't have it. Lee still had questions marks regarding his power at the start of last year. After Aramis' injury, Lou had one "reliable" power source and that was his lead off hitter - Soriano.

Even so, it was a disaster and should have been abandoned. I'm happy that it looks like it now may have been. The better Theriot is, the longer the pressure to bring Castro along is held at bay.

I think Theriot's not going to have much to do with their decision to bring up Castro actually. They want Theriot at 2nd with Castro at shortstop. If Fontenot and Baker stink up the joint while Castro's playing well in AAA, then they'll consider it, regardless of how Theriot's doing.
I'm quite confident Theriot will be at least solid. I just wish he could be closer to the very good hitter he was in 08. And as much crap as he gets for his defense, you can at least get by with him at shortstop.
Anyway, I don't expect Castro to have much of an impact at all this year unless those guys get hurt.
