Major League shortstops I would rather have for the 2010 season than Theriot:
Jimmy Rollins
Derek Jeter
Rafael Furcal
Hanley Ramirez
Marco Scutaro
Troy Tulowitzki
Yunel Escobar
Jason Bartlett
Erick Aybar
Elvis Andrus

That's ten shortstops out of 30 starting shortstops. Theriot is average and there's nothing wrong with average.

There have got to be more than that. But I'm lazy and won't research it. So instead, I'll just ask: where those just the ones off the top of your head?

I took a look at a list of shortstops who played last year. I'm fairly confident that you would agree with me on this list. The only exception is Reyes as Dave pointed out. I agree with him assuming he's healthy. You might throw Alcides Escobar in there too, but I think Theriot will out produce him at least this year if not more than that.
