I'd imagine he's also going to cost at least twice as much as Gomes. Assuming that we're expecting the no. 4 OF to get, what, 350 Plate Appearances...give me Gomes. I'd rather have the younger/more powerful version than Dye.

And I know that Dye's career slg is higher than Gomes, I'm just thinking one can expect a continued drop as he gets older. 36 yrs old vs 29 yrs old is a no-brainer to me.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->


If our 4th OF only gets 350 at bats I think we'll be in pretty good shape. Although I'm afraid our 4th will get a whole lot more ab's than that due to injury/sucktitude.

I could see that too. And I think if that happens, it's not going to matter which one of the two it is, so I'd still take the cheaper option.
