I wouldn't call this "embracing" him.
Look -- I fucking HATED Jim Edmonds, but after I realized that it pissed Cardinals fans off to no end to see him on the Cubs (especially when he started hitting homers), I loved the acquisition.
If the same thing happened with Dye, how could that be a bad thing?
