I think he's trying to get into the HOF. He saw the vote, and might figure that he can only get in with an admission.

The other day, Gammons said that he didn't think any admitted/uncovered users would get in...we'll see.

I don't see how it improves his HOF case. I don't care whether he admitted his mistake or not. He's still a liar and a cheat, and a disgrace to the game.
