I'd like to make one thing clear. Ellsbury does not equal Fuld. I don't understand why people on this board put him in the 4th OFer category. Makes no sense to me.
Not only did he steal 70 bases, he was only caught 12 times. To contrast, Theriot was caught 10 times in only 31 attempts. He hit .301 with and OBP of .355. He's also pretty good at a strong defensive position.
I don't love Brett Gardner but he'd be useful as a left handed hitting platoon mate in CF. He plays a strong CF and gets on base a decent clip. He stolen base percentage is al\so quite good.
