There was no good ending to Milton's time in Chicago, everyone knew that (though not everyone would admit it) when we signed him. If Carlos Silva somehow channels 2007 and has a decent year, I'll be thrilled. I dont expect that to happen, but stranger things have happened. Best case scenario here is that Silva has a few good starts early in the season (doesn't look like the Cubs face any offensive powerhouses in the first 6 weeks or so) and gets himself traded in May or June for bench help or someone who doesn't make $12 million. Maybe Rothschild and inherently weaker NL lineups will turn Silva into an acceptable major league starter. Or he'll 2010's David Patton, only twelve million dollars more expensive.
