Not what you would do if you were king or what you think the Cubs could/should do. Of the realistic options the Cubs would go with, which do you guys think is the best one?
Personally, I would be very happy with a good glove and an OBP of .350 out of our centerfielder. I think Fuld can do that. Add in a right handed hitter to face tough lefties like Reed or Rocco Baldelli and I think we could get some good production from center field.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Sam Fuld shouldn't be a legitimate option -- not even as part of a platoon. He's a 4th OFer, at best.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I want to hear what you and anyone else legitimately think Fuld's OBP would be over the course of this upcoming season if he is platooning from the left side in center field.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I don't think there's any reason to believe, if properly platooned, he couldn't put up a .350 OBP next year, and play plus defense.
A platoon between him and a healthy Reed Johnson, for example, is a FAR FAR FAR preferable option to signing Marlon Byrd to a multi-year deal.

Ace...your penchant for young boys is waaaaay disconcerting.
You're willingness to count on a .350 OBP from Sam Fuld is further proof of your age blindness. When you grow a bit, and begin to realize that age and perspective are also of value to an athlete, you'll likely have a more reasoned, well-developed view of the game...
You just need a touch more perspective...that's all.

1. I said there's no reason to believe he COULDN'T put up a .350 OBP. And there isn't any reason to believe that he COULDN'T. Would he? I don't know. Am I am "counting" on it? Of course not. And I didn't say as much.
2. Sam Fuld turns 29 next year.

Ace...you always post your assertions in the form of a question. You need to commit to your positions.
So...
1) I'm going to continue to assume that you're counting on Sam Fuld for a .350 OBP.
2) I believe you forgot his age, and still think of him as a 25 year-old.
3) You think 30 is the new 60...
