And even what little mystery there was supposed to be, it was about how Bale's character did it, not how Jackman's character did it.
Are you watching closely?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
to put it politely, bullshit. OF COURSE it was a mystery. If it wasn't a mystery, if it was totally about the lengths these 2 would go to show each other up, then they would have shown Jackman's plan all along. The reason they DON'T show you his plan, the reason they DON'T reveal what he is doing, the reason they are vague about the Tesla, is because they want you to guess how he is doing it. It doesn't matter that the movie wasn't a "mystery". It contained mysteries. And the answer to the Jackman mystery was bullshit. Which leads me to
<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->You knew going into the movie that it was a movie about magicians, right? So...you're pissed that the twist involved actual magic? Did you think it was a documentary?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Are you serious? This is EXACTLY why the fact that it involved actual magic is such complete and utter horseshit. How can you guys not understand this? The whole idea behind "magic" is the audience is dared to figure out how the magician can appear to perform magic. Do you honestly think people go to see Chris Angel because they want to see a guy float? Of course not. They go because they want to see if they can figure out how he is doing it. So to spend the whole movie trying to figure out how the magician is performing the illusion of magic, only to be told at the end, "oh yeah, it's really magic", is bullshit.
Butch you keep defending the process by which they reached the end. I don't care about that. The end itself is the problem. I understand why you guys liked the movie, and it's fine if the end didn't ruin it for you. But none of that takes away from the fact that the end was bullshit.

I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.
