As far as I know he was fairly highly regarded.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Because, like all draft-pickers, he's made some mistakes. It's a tough business. Wilken's mistakes tend to be high-profile, headline-grabbing ones though (the absurd Colvin pick, passing on Matt Weiters, etc.) so if you have a bone to pick with him, he's an easy target.
But whoever got the Cubs to start mining Latin America and Korea should get a medal...that's where we're really kicking ass.

I can't go through this with you again KB. I love you man, but the only thing "absurd" is your tenacity in knocking the Colvin pick, and your willingness to alfuckingready call picking a guy who is TWENTY FUCKING YEARS OLD, a "mistake". Weiters over Vitters looks bad now, but since Vitters was drafted out of high school, and Weiters was drafted out of college, how about we give it a few years before we sadly shake our heads at Wilken's stupidity?

I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.
