Do you honestly think if Hendry did nothing but sing the praises of Sosa and Bradley that other teams would have lined up to give us their best prospects?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
How many teams has Bradley played for since his infamous meltdown at Dodger Stadium?
That many GM's.
Besides, it's not just that he poisoned Bradley throughout baseball. He also poisoned him to the Cub fans. He has a 3 year deal. We're paying no matter what. Lots and lots of money. Look at Bradley's career stats. He'll have an odd bad year, then go off on a tear for the next two or three years.
I think Jim's original idea was correct; Cub fans would put up with Milt if he hit. He didn't hit last year. Fans got pissed. So fucking what? He hits the next year. He hits the year after that. He can certainly hit, and there is certainly an adjustment period that goes along with becoming the new Chicago RFer.
Jim should have stuck to his guns.

There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance
