We all follow the Cubs enough to know something about the players. To me, Dempster seems to be quite intelligent. And this is something that an intelligent ballplayer would not only say to the press, but also<i> feel</i>. (btw, I met him at SOITOW-2006; same impression: smart, likable guy.)
Besides, BT is correct...if it looks like we have to dump Bradley, it severely limits our options, and diminishes his trade value by a ton.

i don't think dempster was saying that to up bradley's trade value. i think he was just taking the high road and maybe offering an olive branch in the off chance bradley does come back.
