Over the period of traveling from coast to coast, it's not that much.

Going back to my point KB, I understand that he didn't do this on a daily basis, but over the coarse of the season doing this for most of their road trips he would have to starve himself for a day before hand to not steadily gain weight. It just doesn't add up.

And the world class athlete thing... I guarantee I burn more calories on my daily workouts than most baseball players did then and maybe even now. I honestly don't know what a ballplayer does on a game day, but I assume it's just jogging, hitting, and stretching before the game. Just because he played baseball for a living does not mean he can dispose of 4800 calories any easier than I can.

over the period of traveling coast to coast, it's not that much? seriously? 60 beers in less than 24 hours ain't that much? you're crazy.

i believe that drinking like that and not gaining weight is much more believable. this is a guy who was fanatical about his workout. there's no doubt in my mind that he was able to work that off.

now how he was able to sober up before game time? that one perplexes me.
