i thought it was such a cool looking movie and that it really captured, stretched out and in a tiny way modernized the original story. all of the wild things were somehow parts of max's imagination or psychological reflections of the sliver of his real life we see before he sets sail. apart from all the cool, fantasy based things going on i found myself trying to pick apart different themes that were going on and trying to figure out where they tied in to his real life. the dynamics between the wild things themselves, the environment of the island (especially the "fort" they built), the dialogue for the most part and the score were all really cool i thought. again, my 7 year old loved it so there's that. not to say he doesn't also love some silly little kid shit that i can look at as just that, but i'm glad he saw this movie.

a few genuine laughs, some heartfelt messages and unique visuals. some of the desert and "ocean" shots are pretty awesome on the imax screen as well. i think this one really depends on what the viewer has in mind coming in. because of that i'll be flaky and say - seeing it w/out kids 2.5-3 out of 5 stars and with kids who are really in to it 3-3.5 out of 5 stars<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

do the wild things get it on at all? i mean, do we get a good look at their genitalia?

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Sexual aspects

Differing approaches to sexuality have been a source of controversy and conflict in furry fandom.[citation needed] Examples of sexual aspects within furry fandom include erotic art and furry-themed cybersex.[47][48] The term "yiff" is most commonly used to indicate sexual activity or sexual material within the fandom—this applies to sexual activity and interaction within the subculture whether online (in the form of cybersex) or offline.[49][50] Many members of the furry community feel that the overly sexual component gives the rest of them a bad name, and may use the derogatory term "furvert" to describe such people.[citation needed]

The majority of furries report a non-judgmental attitude towards certain aspects of sexuality and a high tolerance for variety in sexual orientation and activity[citation needed]. 19-25% of the fandom members report homosexuality, 37-48% bisexuality, and 3-8% other forms of alternative sexual relationships. About 2% state an interest in zoophilia, and less than 1% an interest in plushophilia.[26][51] Initial figures were collected by David J. Rust in 1997, but further research has been conducted to update these findings. About half of furry fans are estimated to be in a relationship, with 76% of those having a relationship with another furry.[26][51]

Furry characters are sometimes associated with paraphilias, with online communities dedicated to art and stories featuring macrophilia, vorarephilia, infantilism (babyfurs) and maiesiophilia, among others.[52][53][54] Some fans argue that various paraphilias normally considered illegal in certain jurisdictions, such as pedophilia or extreme pornography, are legal when no humans are depicted. This is, however, the subject of debate. Softpaw Magazine, an erotic "cub" fan magazine, has been banned by furry conventions Eurofurence and Further Confusion due to fear of legal action.[55][56]<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
