I am not sold on the fact that he ever will really get it. Just keep in mind that compared to the average first or second year major league pitcher he probably doesn't have half as many innings pitched during his lifetime.
Wells is a good example of what could happen with Shark, but if we were able to get good value back for Wells I would move him. He just makes me a bit nervous.
I want Reyes from the Mets.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Reyes?
Me too...can't see it ever happening. He's loved out there...even with his surgery.

Beltan's 20 million will buy a lot of free agents.
Rapp, are you out east much anymore?
Just wondering what hte feel is around the Mets. They have had a pretty decent string of horrendous years. Wilpon is in a world of financial hurt. They have two player that really interest me in Beltran and Reyes. It seems that Hendry and Minaya have had a tough time time working out trades together, but a guy can dream right?

I'm still out twice a month, Sav...you're right about Hendry and Minaya...I've always wondered if they're similar types, and have difficulty doing business.
I think Beltran could be had, but Met fans still want Reyes to be their "Jeter". They love him...they should...when he's right, he's awesome.
And...no matter what is happening with Wilpon's real estate, Met fans will kill him if he builds a stadium and cuts payroll. So...I just don't see them rebuilding...and Reyes is still only 26, so he'd have to part of that effort.
Beltran is a big contract...he might be the type they'd move for pieces.
Met fans are pissed, but they also know they got hosed by injuries, this year...I think they're very much in our boat.

According to the Mets, they plan on being aggressive in the free agent market this year so I don't know about them will to get rid of Reyes or Beltran.
"Jeff Wilpon continued to insist Monday that the Mets will be aggressive in free agency, trades and payroll this offseason as they try to pick up the pieces from this year's 70-92 disaster. Shaking off speculation that owner Fred Wilpon's reported $700 million loss in the Bernie Madoff scheme would limit the Mets this winter, Jeff Wilpon vowed that the club would once again have among the highest player budgets in baseball."
