No matter what you think of him (and I love him), Santo isn't going anywhere. People that listen to the games on the radio do so for 1 of 2 reasons, either they love listening to Pat and Ron and will mute their TV to listen to them or they have no alternative (in the car, at work, etc.). People who fall into the latter category aren't going to stop following the Cubs games because of Ron. So there's no downside to keeping him. On the flip side, if they fire hiim, they risk a gigantic backlash, including people who don't really listen on the radio much. Santo will be there until his health won't allow it.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.
