Burnett was not only signed, but given an assload of money, and his injury history is no better than Harden's.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
False statement. Burnett had thrown 220 innings for Toronto the prior season to signing with NYY. He also has 3 seasons of 200+ innings on his resume and proved he could get AL east hitters out. Now I think his contract was idiotic, b/c he still has shown he is brittle but his history shows he is capable of throwing 200 innigs. Harden has not even thrown 150 since his rookie year and has been on the DL every season since then.
Harden's IP:
2004 - 189
2005 - 128 (DL)
2006 - 46 (DL)
2007 - 25 (DL)
2008 - 148 (DL)
2009 - 124 (DL, on pace for about 160)
Burnett's IP:
2000 - 82 (half season in minors)
2001 - 173
2002 - 204
2003 - 23 (DL)
2004 - 120 (DL)
2005 - 209
2006 - 135 (DL)
2007 - 165 (DL)
2008 - 221
2009 - 164 (on pace for 205)
