Is Harden going to be a Type A? If so - do the Cubs offer him arbitration and risk him accepting it? Will he draw big $ FA interest if someone has to surrender a first for him?
I guess anything is possible - but Harden's best bet might be arbitation and a guarantee of no less than 7.3mm. How much more will he get than that? Would someone give him a multi-year deal?

The Cubs would risk it, yes, because assuming health, they'd be happy to have him back at $8 mill (approximately) on a one-year deal.
The question is whether a team would sign him knowing they lose a pick. I think yes, but it is not as certain as the first two.
