Yes, but there was a time when the Cubs sucked year after year and the fans didn't boo their own players. I guess it's because fans have gotten a lot more serious this decade, as was pointed out, but I still think it's lame and classless to boo your own, regardless of how much they suck and despite how badly the fans want a world series ring.
It's gotten to the point where I no longer try to defend Wrigley when I hear other team's fans make fun of it's atmosphere. I've come to realize that I can't defend or try to justify what other people do. I can only speak for myself, and I personally would never boo a Cubs player, even though there have been some who might deserve it on certain days. It's just classless.
