Same with Philly fans, do you really think they're as bad as the media makes them out to be? I realize they've had some outstanding strikes against them, but it's unfair to label the fan base as generally assholish.
That being said, I still think Ruby is right. There's lots of idiots in Wrigley. However, Butcher is also right in that it's no different than any other ballpark, stadium, field, court, or other venue in the world.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm not going to argue that Wrigley isn't filled with morons. It is. And I don't like that aspect of Wrigley sometimes.
But why are there so many articles about it? Are there this many articles in the St. Louis Dispatch about moronic Cardinals fans? I doubt it. Right here in Chicago, why does it take William Ligue running onto the field to beat up Tom Gamboa to take a Chicago sportswriter to say anything about Sox fans? It's almost like Sox fans are praised for not showing up for their team. I've been to U.S. Cellular many times. One out of ten fans there has a tattoo on his/her scalp and are drunk out of their gourds. Why don't we ever hear about those douchebags in the media?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I've never witnessed a Cards or Sox stadium filled with people booing for no good reason.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I guess you didn't watch the opening ceremonies at the All-Star game.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
You know that's not what I meant.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Maybe I don't know what you meant, then. The first thing I thought of when I thought of classless Cards fan booing was the All-Star game. Booing the president when he throws out the first pitch? Booing the Cubs' lone NL representative? It's ignorant, classless, and stupid. What more do you want?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
It's not booing your own player and you knew exactly what I meant.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Actually, I didn't know exactly what you meant. You said, "people booing for no good reason." You didn't say, "booing their own players."
What's a good reason to boo your own players? Do they just have to suck really badly? Because I've seen Cards fans boo poor performances by their own players. Sox fans, too.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Whatever dude, I'm not talking about his shit anymore. It is what it is and Cubs fans have a gotten the reputation they have for good reason. If you don't see it or don't like it, I don't know what to tell you.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
OK. Whatever, dude.
