I don't know... the Cubs have had to overcome so many things this year. I know we've been saying it all year, but this team has the talent to be incredibly dominant just as last year's team was. I realize that there is just plain bad baseball out there at times, but I feel like there's so much ability and once we get the rotation together again they could easily catch fire.
It's not just on potential of what this team can do either. I just have a feeling they'll make it close. They may win the division, they may not, but they'll make it close. Part of why I feel that way is because I remember this rock bottom feeling from years past and they've either went on to push for the post season (2003, 2007) or competed for a place in the post season (2004) in recent years.
Plus I've seen things like the 2003 Marlins, 2005 Astros, and the 2007 Rockies happen. You can never predict this game.
