Here's the thing. Even if Peavy pitches again this season and is effective for a few games, there was no reason to roll the dice on him before finding out if he will be durable for the remainder of the season. Hell, his own agent is shocked that it happened, so that tells you something. Why not wait until the offseason and revisit the trade? His trade value most likely goes down after this season, so there's no harm in waiting unless you believe you're buying low while Peavy sits on the DL. Sounds to me like KW made a move just to get attention.
