To say the Sox have made decent trades at the deadline is one thing...but this? Talk about getting caught up in the moment! Deer in headlights! Adrenaline flowing and jizz fillin' the pants! Sleeping tonight thinking he pushed the envelope. It's deadline day baby! He's a human, public falacy.

Bear in mind, this is coming from a guy who despises the White Sox with a white hot passion, and finds Kenny Williams one of the smuggest arrogant executives I've ever seen. However, I cannot figure out the fawning over KW, especially here. Go through this thought experiment with me.
If Peavy, and his full contract, was put on waivers, what percentage of teams would PASS on him, even without giving up prospects. Half? Two thirds? How many teams would take on a 50 plus million dollar salary, even without giving anything up? Maybe 10?
Out of those 10, how many would give up FOUR of their best prospects in order to secure the right to pay that contract? Would there even be three? I bet the field is narrowed down to one by then, but lets be generous and say three.
Of those three, how many would pay 50 million and give up 4 prospects, to trade for a pitcher who is ON THE DISABLED LIST? It's got to be one, right?
I'm not saying the Sox didn't do OK, I'm not saying they won't be better in the long run for making this deal, but what kind of genius does it take, given the current economy, to take on a huge contract, unload 4 of your best prospects, in order to trade for a guy on the DL?

Just remember, he is trying to win a championship.
