Do you ever pay attention?
Buehrle has:
- accused Greg Maddux of throwing a spitball
- claimed that he would never want to pitch for his favorite team (the Cardinals) because he'd have to pitch at Wrigley more often
- has trashed the Cubs and Cubs fans on several occasions
It isn't like we're hating Dye, Thome, or even Frank Thomas -- all of those guys are pretty classy and have managed to stay pretty neutral regarding the Cubs. We're talking about Mark Buehrle, who is a total douchebag.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm not going through it again. I don't like him, I don't cheer for him, I don't give a shit about him. What he did on the other hand is historic and if you can't appreciate it then I don't know what to tell you. I like watching historical events in baseball, I'm sorry. Now that I went through it again I'm done. Fuck.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I like witnessing baseball history, but it kills me that it was Buehrle who did it. I wish it was someone else who did it. I was actively rooting for him not to get it and it killed me when Wise made that amazing catch to preserve it.
Do you have a least favorite player, PcB? I'm just curious. Is there someone who you really despise? And if so, would you enjoy watching them set some sort of record?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
My least favorite player is Barry Bonds and no I didn't like seeing him set records. But there's a fucking REASON I don't like him. He cheated. He broke rules. It wasn't because he pushed my favorite team in the mud and called them a doody head.I'm grown enough to look past that momentarily to appreciate what he did. Doesn't mean I like him, doesn't mean I love him. You guys are seriously trying to push me off this board aren't you?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Hell no, dude. I'm not trying to push off the board. I would hate that. If I ever take it too far, just tell me and I'll stop. I always assume it's all in good fun, but maybe I take it too far sometimes...
So...you like Manny Ramirez, right? How can you hate Bonds but not Manny?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Manny's more lovable.
