Word is the Pirates have rejected the Giants offer and are trying to sign Sanchez to an extension still. Sanchez asked for 3 years, 20 million according to Heyman.

That does not seem like a bad contract at all. Less than 7 million a year for him seems like a good deal for both sides.

I don't think it's a bad deal for him, but I don't know if it would be wise for the Pirates to give him that much money. They're trading everybody, trying to get younger and save money. He'll be 32 in December and I just don't know if giving a solid, not great baseball player that much money is the right decision for that franchise with what they're trying to do. I wouldn't say it's a bad deal at all though and he's deserving of it, sure. He's really underrated defensively at 2nd.
