Giving Fontenot the job at 2B while trading DeRosa so we could get more left-handed will go down as one of the dumbest things Jim Hendry has ever done in his life.

That's only part of what he did. He did it to sign Bradley as well.

I actually thought Bradley was a good risk. But it had nothing to do with Fontenot and DeRosa.

Yes it did. The Cubs and Bradley had a deal in place. Hendry told them they had to wait until he cleared Derosa and Marquis' salary before they could sign him. So it had EVERYTHING to do with Fontenot and Derosa.
