Would we really be better off with his 6.16 ERA right now (actually it might be worse, since Gaudin is pitching in a much better pitchers park)?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm not sure if anyone has been paying attention lately, but Gaudin has really turned it on the last 3 starts for San Diego:
7 IP/Start
2.14 ERA
28K/5 BB in 21 innings
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
He played Seattle twice. Seattle has scored less runs than any team in the major leagues, with the exception of the Mariners. They've even scored fewer runs than the Cubs, if you can believe that.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
True, but yesterday he threw 8 innings of 1-hit ball at Texas with 9 K/2 BB.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
And that is impressive, but it's only one game. The good three starts sort of pales when you see who he beat. And if you go back 4 starts, he's been terrible.
It's sort of like when my sox fan buddy tells me how great Danks has looked, and I have to explain to him that beating the Cubs isn't all that hard to do right now.

I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.
