That seems a bit on the extreme side - if you want to just rest him for a few days, you rest him for a few days. You don't make your best reliever thus far completely unavailable for two weeks.
That said, he's obviously not hurt very badly, as Lou has said if there was a 5-day DL, he probably would have used that one.
