His cut fastball is supposed to be devastating and he only learned to throw it two years ago. I also remember him having a pretty good slider when he was up at the end of 2007.
I think people need to remember that pretty much anything is possible. No, it's not likely that a player will turn into an amazing pitcher at 26 years old, but it's not impossible.
AAA success is not exactly condusive to major league success, but his numbers over the last 6 weeks or so have been unreal. He has to be doing something right and if the Cubs can catch him in a groove and take advantage of it, I'm more than happy with that.
