It should be noted that Prior came into the draft with almost the exact pedigree as Strasburg now has: perfect form, blazing fastball, excellent control, constantly being called "The Greatest College Pitcher Ever." Plus, he played for USC, which has a MUCH tougher schedule than Strasburg's SD State.
I think it was the right pick at the time.

Prior was the guy with the flawless delivery, so I dont believe all this hype about Strasberg being the best ever. He will blow out his elbow within 3 years.
