Sure. <i>Now</i> it is. But it won't always be that way. It wasn't THAT long ago that the Pirates and Reds were playoff teams or even championship teams.

That was before money became a major factor. I can't see the division being competitive top to bottom again anytime soon with the markets these teams are in. Yes there's going to be a Tampa Bay and Colorado every year or two, but I don't think we're going to see the divsion as a whole anything like the AL East or NL East in the near future with the payroll differences of these teams.
