Here's a great example of a game where watching it tells you a lot more than the stats from it will.
Brian Moehler was throwing absolute meatballs today, especially in the first couple of innings and we couldn't do anything. We should've scored 5+ off of him.
Then in the 3rd, 2nd and 3rd no outs with Bradley, Soto, and Fontenot up. We can't get anymore runs(had 2 in the inning). Well we should've gotten at least one more, but Fuk wasn't tagging up at 3rd.
Harden had terrific stuff today. He made one one really bad mistake on an 0-2 pitch to Blum, where Soto wanted a high fastball. Harden threw it in low and inside, and Blum golfed it into right field for an RBI single. The other hits that inning you just tip your cap. If he keeps throwing like that though he's not going to allow more than 2 runs or so.
Then Ascanio. Holy shit was that first inning pathetic. He plunks Kaz Matsui and Michael Bourn right in front of Berkman, then just misses hitting Berkman on the first pitch. He then allows a single, then a wild pitch. He got bailed out for Lance Berkman trying to steal 3rd base. Anyway, that was quite possibly the worst pitched inning this season which is saying a shitload, and it's a miracle he only ended up allowing 2 runs. He looked good the following inning at least, but man was that a joke.
