3.74 ERA playing all of his career in the AL and most in the AL East, 754 K in 781 innings. Those numbers are better than Z's career numbers, certainly more solid than Dempster's one good year, and better on the whole than Lilly's.

I agree

The Mariners GM threw him under the bus big time last year, said it was all they could do to get him to take the ball. He has Injury issues and I think he is a head case and a douche.

Not saying I wouldn't take him, he has great talent, but to me he would just be a lefty Rich Harden, tons of talent, but not a guy you can count on to be a true ace.

It wouldn't have mattered who he faced yesterday, when he has that command he's as good as any pitcher in baseball. His stuff is superb.

I think he'll finish with 15 wins and an ERA in the 3.50-3.80 range. If that makes last year a "fluke", fine, but he's still very effective.

Bedard's a complete douchebag and is always hurt. He hurt his ass in spring training, probably getting pumped by Cedeno. He's coming off an arm injury, and he's missing his start tomorrow due to a hamstring injury. Not interested.

Being sodomized by Cedeno aside, he's still a better pitcher than Dempster.

Like I said, Dempster can probably be a fine #3 starter. But he isn't someone you want starting game 1 of a playoff series.
