If our game 1 pitcher threw a shutout in 07 or 08, we would have won at least one of those series, if not both.

Nope. Dude, we scored 6 total runs each time, that's an average of 2 runs per game. You're not going to win games that way. And you're saying "If they threw a shutout". There were 2 shutouts in all of the playoff games the last 2 seasons. The pitching hasn't been great by any means, but it's 99% on the offense.

I'm not interested in getting into this argument again, but if we had Johan Santana rolling twice in a 5 game series, 2 runs a game might be enough to win it. There isn't a pitcher on our roster who is in the same league as someone like Santana.
