New bullpen:
Marmol
Gregg
Guzman
Wadell
Ascanio
Stevens
Samardzija
Patton can go back to the Rockies, Cotts and Fox can take a hike, and they can make up an injury for Heilman. At this point, I wouldn't mind seeing Marshall back to the bullpen and Wells given a few more starts after Zambrano is back.
At some point they are going to have to give up the farm to get guys like Heath Bell, Jason Grilli, Russ Springer, Jim Johnson and Denys Baez... and it makes me sick.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I don't think any of those guys other than Heath Bell would cost more than a prospect. And Heilman is going to have to be a key part of this pen, like it or not. He's not going away.

That's why I said make up an injury. When did I say anything about him going away?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
He's a key part of this team and needs to step up. They're not going to just give up on him already, that would be beyond foolish. If he's really hurt, sure.

Look Clapp, you're clearly not getting it. Making up an injury for any player is a silly suggestion made out of frustration. Do you really think I'm hoping Heilman suddenly gets a vaguely described DL listing? It's happened before, but I don't think it's something a team can do on a regular basis.
Honestly though, I think Heilman needs to give it a rest for a few weeks. The more realistic option is relegate him to mop-up duty. However, that may be a problem seeing as we don't have anyone else that can step up and be an effective late inning reliever.
I'm pissed off and unlike a lot of guys on here, I don't usually go off on non-sensible tirades too often. So let me have this one, eh?
