i don't think theres a single person who disagrees that your top power guy should bat 3rd, 4th, or 5th. we all agree with that. we've all watched baseball our entire lives. we understand it, we know how it's played. we know we know we know.
BUT soriano is an exception. there are always exceptions. sandberg was an exception, bobby bonds was an exception. they happen in life all the time.
