you know what i think? i think it's become cliche to be a beatles fan. i think a lot of people say they like the beatles because they feel they have to. i think a lot of people who just love the beatles so much couldn't tell you which album has which song. it's gotten to the point that if you're a music fan, then you have to be a beatles fan. i hate that mentality.
i like a lot of beatles songs. i can easily make a top 50 playlist and genuinely like every song. i could also make a top 50 shitty beatles song playlist and hate every one of those songs.
i respect the beatles place in rock history. i appreciate what they did. like kb said, much of what we hear was inpired by the beatles. but i won't worship them. i won't suck their moptop cocks.
when i think of "classic rock", bands like zeppelin and floyd and performers like bowie had a much greater impact on me.
