I can't understand how ESPN Executives let that happen. I know Yankee fans love him - and he will draw eyeballs that way - but with the MLB network launch being successful so far, and with them having some very talented analysts, I can't understand why ESPN would have allowed Winfield on their set at this point.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Because they obviously want to attract the more casual fans, meaning most Yanks fans and 95% of the country, while the MLB Network is geared toward more serious baseball fans who actually know a player or two outside of their favorite team's roster. Winfield is there for ratings, not expert analysis.

While MLB Network is heads and shoulders better than BBTN, they seem like they're slipping as they move away from their premiere. The Cubs 30 clubs in 30 days was laughable.

I agree the 30 Clubs in 30 Days was pretty bad. But MLB tonight and Hot Stove were all pretty good. The only things I watch on there are Live Baseball and MLB tonight. The only thing I watch on ESPN is live college basketball/football, NFL and MLB games. Sportscenter has been awful for several years too.
