Yeah -- I'm pretty sure you're right. I do feel like I heard that quote. However, we already had Fontenot on the roster -- we didn't need to trade DeRosa to get more left-handed (unless getting Miles was actually considered an upgrade).

But Fontenot wasn't going to start if DeRosa was here. They wanted Fontenot to get more at bats, and I think we'll be happy with the decision.

I'm talking about at second base, that we'll be happy about Fontenot getting more at bats. I agree we'll miss DeRosa's versatility.

I think Fontenot would've had plenty of ABs. DeRo would probably get 60-75 games in RF. Give him 15-20 at 1B. Give him about the same (or more) at 3B. Let him pinch hit or spell Alf a few other days and Fontenot would get 130 games at 2B. That's probably what he'll get anyway with Miles on the roster.
