ESPN is kinda weird, sometimes you are only half logged in when you first go there. It shows your name at the top and lets you see stuff but then if you try to do anything like make a roster change it makes you give a password to completely log in.

Yeah, I've had that problem too. Like I said, worst case scenario is that we send the team invite to another address of Tailgater's, and he'll have to register for a new account.
