My guess is that the Angels didn't want to come off as cheap compared to the Dodgers and believe that they still have new TV revenue sitting around.
The offensive power in that lineup could be crazy.
It's not like Josh would have any temptations around LA. LA's a teetotaler type of town. Just the type of place Josh needs to keep him on the straight and narrow.
Rangers saying that they didn't have an last look at the offer so no opportunity to match / beat it.
