Also, if those are the two teams that he's sort of zeroed in on, I'd think we have the big edge(if the Cubs are open to bringing him in). The Rays have Shields, Kazmir, Garza, Price, and Sonnanstine. He's sure as hell not getting a job over the first four. Sonnanstine is solid himself as he won 13 games with a 4.53 ERA in 193 innings pitched last year, and he's just turning 26 in the next few weeks. So the Rays aren't looking to replace him.
Sign Schilling, make Marshall the swing man where he gives us 2 lefties in the bullpen and will still make 15-25 starts, and trade Guzman to a shitty team more concerned about the future than this year for an infielder.
