It's especially nice to see our 2 biggest rivals both make the top three.
BTW, where do you guys see the Cubs in this? Anyone who does not think that losing both our closer AND our team MVP, and getting ZERO in return is a bad thing..well they must not watch baseball.
OTOH, we added the AL's OBP leader, picked up a better-than-mediocre closing possibility, and even picked up a lottery ticket (Heilman).

I would say Stevens is more than zero. I think he gets forgotten a bit too much around here especially for a guy that had an 81/27 K/BB ratio and 12.5 K/9 last year between AA and AAA.

Heck, those are excellent numbers, no doubt. But do you see him pitching even one <i>inning</i> for the Cubs <b>this year</b>?
Ace, on his blog, makes a pretty solid case for us not really neding DeRosa next year, but the reason it didn't convince me was because his case hinges on: Font playing WAY over his head again this year, (like he did last year), and Miles magically becoming profoundly better than he ever has been before.
Kind of a dream scenario, and while I'd love to see it play out that way, I remain skeptical.

Well, you can't say Font played over his head because he hasn't really gotten the opportunity to prove himself on a daily basis. See Theriot, everyone thought he was gonna be disaster and he turned out to be pretty good. You never know.
I've always liked Fontenot, probably because he looks kinda cool with the hair and everything, I don't know but I'm pretty excited that he'll get a chance and I really think he'll be at least solid with the bat.
Miles on the other hand, can go to hell. He won't be starting at second so we ended up paying what? 4 million for a backup? Ugh...
