You can guarantee that the kinds of people who find the book interesting are going to hate the movie, because it's going to be full of bullshit. And the people who would have zero interest in the book will have zero interest in the movie anyway. Thus, there is no audience for this movie.
It's like when stupid fucking movies make jokes about Google and Myspace. Guess what, producers: we already know more about Google and Myspace than you ever will, so your jokes about them are LAME. "I Googled." That's not a joke. We say that. All the time. It's in the fucking dictionary for crying out loud.
