I don't. I want them to get what they can for Hill and ditch the scene with the loot. I don't want them waiting around for Hill to blow up.

You can't get anything for this guy right now, that's the problem. If he does well, they'll get a good prospect in return. If he doesn't they'll get the same shit player they would right now.
